Checklist for Reviewing Structural Slab Drawings
Checking of drawing number, title, date, project number, approval/construction status & revision history.
List of reference drawings & their revision history.
Reference level as per architectural & foundation drawings.
Checking of slab thickness & level of slab (finished/ unfinished).
Grade of materials and clear cover as per design.
Regular beams, hidden beams, and inverted beams should be checked.
Slab type marking (Regular/Sunk/Flat Slab/Flat Plate), one-way/two-way slab & formwork details should be mentioned & marked on the drawing.
Mention loading consideration on slab for which it is designed.
Check for sunk locations, depth & cutouts as per approved GA/Architectural drawings.
Note for the density of filling material in case of sunk slab.
Reinforcement details like main steel, distribution steel, extra top bars, torsion reinforcement, rebar details around cutouts, & their notation on plan and rebar schedule as per design.
In case of cantilever/projected/overhang slab, check for deflection & detailed reinforcement section.
Location of insert plates & details, in case of MS columns.
Punching shear check to be done in case of flat slabs & heavy point/machinery loads.
Check slab extensions & projections as per architectural drawings.
Provision of beam/extra reinforcement at the periphery of cutouts.
Note for cantilever slabs: Support should not be removed until the supporting member gains full strength.
Provision for special note if hanger/suspender is provided.
Note for camber in case of large-span & cantilever slabs.
Check for HILTl material details if provided.
Matching of beam numbering in layout &
longitudinal section (LS).
Matching of beam width in layout & LS.
Column hatch to indicate whether the column is terminating at the floor or not.
Development length for extra reinforcement in both slab & beam detailing.
Checking for the same curtailment length on both sides of the junction considering equal force transfer.
